Flexible Volunteer Leadership Program (FLEX)

The Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center plans and manages projects each month that connect volunteers to support the needs of Anne Arundel County organizations through our Flexible Volunteer Program (FLEX). Our projects are flexibly scheduled, allowing even the busiest volunteer to make a difference in a fun, meaningful setting.

Registration for the FLEX Program is required. Once you become a Flex member, you can enjoy unlimited volunteering.

We've done the footwork for you by finding and scheduling high-impact projects at nonprofits, libraries, parks, and schools that need your help. FLEX projects are group based, so you'll be working alongside other volunteers from Anne Arundel County. Most FLEX projects occur on weekday evenings and weekends. You must attend a one hour in-person training or orientation before you can get started. It is also required that you make a commitment of one project a month for 3-5 months. Projects take place at locations throughout the county. Every FLEX project is led by a trained FLEX Leader who serves as your contact for questions before, during and after your project.

We help children, adults and the community at large through projects including:

  • Tutoring children and adults
  • Revitalizing parks, schools, and neighborhoods
  • Preparing and serving meals to the hungry
  • And so much more!
