Theatre volunteers for Children's Theatre of Annapolis

Children's Theatre of Annapolis is searching for volunteers for its upcoming 2018-2019 season, during which the organization is producing "Peter Pan," "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr." Areas that need volunteers include: - Set-building crews, including woodworkers and painters - Costumes, including seamstresses - Technical assistance, including lighting and sound/audio - Concession sales during productions This is a great way for teens to earn their service learning hours and to give back to the Community! ESL Instructor

St Mary’s ESL Program needs volunteers to teach English one night a week to adult ESL students for the Sept–May school year. The 8 levels of classes are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7-8:45pm. Fall 2018 classes will run from 11 September - 6 December 2018 at St. Mary’s High School in downtown Annapolis. Each teacher is asked to commit to one class/one night a week and will be part of a teaching team. Spanish-language ability is preferred for beginner classes only. Those with ESL or any teaching experience as well as those with a keen interest in working with students to help them learn English are encouraged to apply. Collect Sports Equipment

This is an opportunity to help collect sports equipment within your community. Volunteers can collect at their schools, offices, rec centers, etc. and/or amongst neighbors, teammates, family, and friends. We need local volunteers and their communities to help us ensure that all of the unused equipment around the DMV ends up in our warehouse so that we can turn around and donate it to programs in need! We can provide marketing materials and collection bins for all interested volunteers. Most volunteers drop donations off at our warehouse and stay to inventory/sort those donations, but a pickup can be scheduled if needed.

Inventory/Sort Sports Equipment in LPF Warehouse

LPF relies on volunteers to inventory and sort the large amounts of equipment donations we receive daily. Come to our warehouse and sort through soccer balls, baseball bats, basketballs, cleats and so much more. While not required, it is preferred that the volunteer has a basic knowledge of sports. We also recommend wearing clothing that you do not mind getting dirty.

Food Bank Volunteer

The Anne Arundel County Food and Resource Bank is looking for volunteers to sort food and re-pack Government surplus items at their Crownsville facility. There is no heavy lifting involved and this is a great individual or group volunteer activity (good for team building as well). Volunteers are needed between the hours of 9 am and 3p m, Monday through Friday. Help your community, get volunteer credit (if you need it), and have fun! Seeds 4 Success, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Annapolis whose mission is working together as a community to provide children from low income communities with the support to achieve success in school and life. S4S is seeking Academic Success Coaches (tutors) for our Eastport Girls Club and Eastport Boys Club programs. Inspire a girl or boy in grades 3-8th to become a healthy, successfull individual! As an Academic Success Coach (tutor) you meet with your tutee from 5-6pm every week during program and serve as a positive guide in his/ hers reading and writing development. You also work collaboratively with S4S staff and your tutee's Mentor to support achievement of your his/ hers personal goals.
