PARTNERS IN CARE -- ADVOCATE

Partners In Care is looking for volunteers to join their care management team as advocates, supporting older adults in Anne Arundel County.

Partners In Care, a 501(c)3 community nonprofit, was founded 20 years ago to help older adults remain independent in their own homes.  The organization has more than 2,600 members who are engaged in a unique culture of time exchange, neighbors helping neighbors.  Using this service-exchange model, people contribute their time and talents to the ‘community pool’ to accomplish requested tasks.  Every person is asked to participate to become part of the solution.  In this way, assets already in the community are identified and utilized, accomplishing more than in traditional models.  And, as a result, people are empowered to remain independent.  Their website is www.partnersincare.org.

Partners In Care is looking for volunteers who are willing to offer advocacy support to older adults in the community who are having difficulty navigating their way through challenging tasks such as submitting paperwork for assistance, dealing with housing issues, and obtaining good health care.

Volunteering is appreciated on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm (hours are very flexible), and some work could be done from home.

If you are interested, please to provide a brief statement of your qualifications and relevant background for this volunteer opportunity.
