Saturday/Monday Volunteer
Volunteers in this position will staff the museum on one Saturday each month. Duties include greeting and assisting visitors, and administering sales for the admissions desk and museum store. Saturday Volunteers report to the Assistant Director. The volunteer must be available from 9:30am to 2:30pm on one regular Saturday each month. Volunteers are also required for similar duties and hours every other Monday. Hours are negotiable (we need 9:00am to 4:00pm covered, but we are also happy to have two people each take half the day). The volunteers will receive New Volunteer Orientation training at the onset of their service with the museum. The Assistant Director and museum staff will provide additional on-the-job training. Saturday Volunteers should enjoy working with the public and have excellent communication skills. They should have the ability to operate a small scale cash box. All training in museum operations will be provided. The volunteer will be provided with a badge which they should wear visibly at all times when they are representing the museum, on site or off site. The volunteer will be given a manual which outlines Museum procedures and policies; volunteers will adhere to the policies and procedures detailed in the manual. Must be at least 18 years of age.
