Food Volunteer

The Anne Arundel County Food and Resource Bank is looking for volunteers to sort food and re-pack Government surplus items at their Crownsville facility. There is no heavy lifting involved and this is a great individual or group volunteer activity (good for team building as well). Volunteers are needed between the hours of 9 am and 3p m, Monday through Friday. Help your community, get volunteer credit (if you need it), and have fun! Hop(e), Skip & Jump 5K Family Fun Walk

The "Hop(e), Skip & Jump 5K Family Fun Walk" is part of the Move More Race Series and is being held at Kinder Farm Park, Millersville, MD, Saturday, July 28th, 7:00 – 11:00 am. Volunteers are needed on the day of the event starting at 7:00 am to assist with race support, be a course monitor, register participants and give out race bags, mark course, and take pictures. Seeds 4 Success, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Annapolis whose mission is working together as a community to provide children from low income communities with the support to achieve success in school and life. S4S is seeking Academic Success Coaches (tutors) for our Eastport Girls Club and Eastport Boys Club programs. Inspire a girl or boy in grades 3-8th to become a healthy, successfull individual! As an Academic Success Coach (tutor) you meet with your tutee from 5-6pm every week during program and serve as a positive guide in his/ hers reading and writing development. You also work collaboratively with S4S staff and your tutee's Mentor to support achievement of your his/ hers personal goals. Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage: Anne Arundel County Tour

Historic London Town and Gardens is seeking volunteers on Saturday, April 28th to help with serving as room and garden attendants (also called hosts) and at ticket tables for the eight beautiful houses and sites. See photos of all participating sites at www.mhgp.org/Anne-Arundel-County-2018. A few images from participating homes are below. You can select to volunteer for a 9:30am - 1:30pm or 1:30pm - 5pm shift. Lunch will be included (Afternoon shift should arrive at 1:15pm for lunch) Volunteers will also be able to purchase a reduced price ticket of only $15 to take the tour before or after their shift. More information will be emailed to volunteers. There will be a volunteer orientation at London Town on Tuesday, April 24 at 2pm.

Seeds 4 Success is seeking an unpaid, part time (10-15 hrs./wk.) Volunteer Services Intern, age 21 and up, to assist the Volunteer Manager with administrative duties at its offices at 1399 Forest Dr., Annapolis, MD 21401. Hours are flexible Mon.-Wed., and one Sat. per month. Some of the work may be accomplished at home. Duties include providing help with outreach efforts to obtain volunteers, maintain records, organize volunteer events, weekly communications, and more. Candidates should have access to reliable transportation, be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision, able to set priorities and multitask. Experience working with nonprofit, volunteer services, and/or customer services would be a plus but not required. Walk & Run for the Animals

The 27th Annual “Walk & Run for the Animals”, Sunday, May 6th, 2018, 7:30 am – 1:00 pm: Volunteers are needed to help in a variety of roles for this fundraiser being held at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. Each spring over two thousand friends of the SPCA and their pets join us in beautiful Quiet Waters Park for our largest fundraiser. Enjoy walks on measured courses in the park as well as our large outdoor vendor festival. Participants may register for the Walk, Run, or Cars & Critters show at - http://aaspcawalkfortheanimals.everydayhero.do/#Individual . The 5K Run starts at 7:30 am, and the Walk begins at 9:00 am.
